Crystal’s cats and puppies

Crystal’s cats and puppies

Here are some photos Crystal brought in after her dog had puppies. They are really cute and cuddly! My favourite photo is the one of the puppy and kitten play fighting.

Have a look and leave a comment. If you have any photos of anything exciting that you do or see, please email them to me or bring them in on a thumb drive!

TIME TABLES GAMES and IDEAS

Let’s improve our times tables…

We need to get better at our times tables! We discovered this today!

Here are some quick ideas that you can do at home to practice your times tables.

  • Get mum or dad (or sister or ANYBODY) to test you. The best time to do this is when driving home, walking home or when sitting around at home.
  • Make some flashcards to test yourself (Put the questions on one side, and the answer on the other) and see how many you can do in 2 minutes.
  • Put a poster of all the times tables on a wall and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!

This site below also has a whole heap of games for times tables. I haven’t checked most of them out so let me know what you think!

FRACTIONS

Equivalent and Simplifying Fractions

We have been working on equivalent fractions over the past couple of weeks, as well as how to simplify fractions. It is a very important skill to know, and the more you practice the easier it will get.

Click here for a site on Equivalent Fractions. Have a go at as many as you can and put your score on the blog.

If you do not understand how to do these, it is important to let me know so that I can help you further! Don’t be afraid to ask for help!

TRIBE CROSS COUNTRY

Tribe Cross Country

Well done to EVERYONE that competed in the Tribe Cross Country on Friday. It was a great event, and it was fantastic seeing everyone giving it a go!!

Everyone that competed collected points for their Tribe.

A special congratulations goes to all the place-getters in all the races, and to those who were lucky enough to make the Interschool Cross Country Team.

In LA 23 Abi and Todd both won their races and Amy came third in the girls race, just behind her sister!

Have a look at the photos below.

VOICE FESTIVAL

VOICE FESTIVAL

This is a reminder that the VOICE FESTIVAL is in WEEK 10 for those who are participating.

I will be starting coaching sessions with these students NEXT WEEK. It is important that you know your poem off by heart by this time so that we can work on voice projection, expression and speed.

ASSEMBLY ITEMS

ASSEMBLY ITEMS

Hi all,
Our class assembly is NEXT WEEK (Wednesday!). We have been busy practicing, and although we still have a lot to do, we are making progress.

There are some different items we need and if you are able to lend us any of them we would be most grateful. Please bring them in.

Army Clothes (camouflage etc)
Guns (Pretend obviously, but realistic)
A Dress (From a dress up set)
Old school uniform from a different school (For our tallest boy)
A nuns ‘uniform’ (I think I am clutching at straws there!)
Traditional Vietnamese hats
Water bottles (Army type or normal is fine)

Thank you all for your help!
