Bully For You

Bully For You

Today in class we started an online game called “Bully For You”. The goal is to help find Ted Andrews, who has gone missing.

Unfortunately some students did not get a chance to start this today due to not having handed in the homework required to begin. Those that did had a good time!

Each student was given a code, and then they made their own log-ins.

CLICK HERE to go to the website (If you have not used the site before, you need to put your code in the box “Student Access Code”.

Please feel free to go to the website and change your profile and try to solve the crime (Even if you had a go today).
If you find clues, please post them on here to help others!

‘BULLY FOR YOU’ HOMEWORK

BULLY FOR YOU

We are going to be taking part in an online interactive mystery called Bully For You. Our goal is to help find Ted Andrews, a student who has gone missing. 3.)   What kind of bullying have you seen?

4.)   How did you feel when you saw someone being bullied?

5.)   What did you do when you saw the bullying happening?

6.)   Have you ever been bullied? What happened?

Storybird Tip #1

Storybird Tip #1

Over the next week I will put up some grammar, spelling and punctuation tips to help you with your Storybird Assignment.
Each time I put up tips, you should check your assignment for EACH of these tips.

CAPITALS: Go through your book and correct ALL capitals. This includes at the start of every sentence, names of people or characters and when using I (Eg “I went to the beach”)

SPACES AFTER GRAMMAR: You should have a space after (NOT BEFORE!) every full stop, comma, exclamation mark, question mark and the ’99’ in quotation marks.

SPEECH- This will need a post on its own, but do not forget each sentence involving direct speech needs to start on a new line, and you need a comma or full stop after each piece of speech (as discussed in class).

Storybird

STORYBIRD

Today we logged in and had a play with a new program called ‘Storybird‘.

This is a program in which you pick the pictures you want in a book and then write a story about them. It is great fun!

In a few weeks we will do an assignment with this program, but for now you are able to play around and explore it.

If you write a great story (with no errors), publish it and I can put it on the blog.

CLICK HERE to access the site. Everyone was given their log in details today.

Here is a good example of a book.

What is your favourite children’s book?

Favourite Children’s Books

What is your favourite children’s book?

Your task is to bring your favourite children’s book (picture book) to class. They should be picture books that are aimed at children from about 5-8 year olds (not novels or comics!).

It is important that your book is FICTION and tells a story. It must have a beginning, a middle (climax of the story) and an ending (resolution).

You need to bring in the book by THURSDAY. If you do not have a book you need to borrow one or get one out of the library at lunchtime.

Here are some of my favourites! What are yours?
