PARENT OPEN AFTERNOON

PARENT INFORMATION SESSION

Please be aware that our PARENT INFORMATION SESSION will be held on WEDNESDAY February 15, at 3:15pm in the staffroom. This will be an important session for as many parents as possible to attend. As well as class procedures, it will cover camp and other events throughout the year.

Your attendance would be greatly appreciated.

End of Year Assembly

End of Year Assembly Concert

The End of Year Assembly is on Thursday night. For our item all students are required to wear SUMMER / BEACH CLOTHES (No bikinis!). You may wear boardshorts, colourful tops, goggles, zinc / sunscreen. Anything to show you are in the mood for summer!

Give some people some ideas… Comment below about what YOU are planning on wearing!

Cork / Wooden Reindeer

Reindeer Construction

As we head into Christmas, I would like to construct wooden reindeer in class. In order to be able to do this, I need your help!

To make these reindeer (see pictures) we need wooden logs (diameter 5cm max) or corks (for miniature reindeer). The wood needs to be 5-10cm long (depending on how big you want the body of the reindeer.

CORKS WOULD BE IDEAL!

We can do all the cutting and drilling at school, so as long as we have the wood we should be able to give it a go! We will find all the sticks we need around the school.

If you have anything helpful at home, please bring it in this week so we can give it a try!

End of Year Assembly CHALLENGE

End of Year Assembly CHALLENGE

LA 18, 19 and 23 are working together to perform an item at the End of Year Assembly.

We will be performing our own version of ‘We’re all going on a Summer Holiday’. Each class has been given a verse and need to change the words to reflect something we have done in class.

LA 19’s verse is as follows:

Everybody has a summer holiday
doin’ things they always wanted to
So we’re going on a summer holiday,
to make our dreams come true
for me and you.

You have until FRIDAY to come up with new lyrics that fit into this tune.

You can check out the video below to check out the tune (Our part is 40 seconds into the video).

Have a think about UNIQUE ‘things’ we have done in class. Have a think about farming, chickens, poetry or anything else you can think of.

Write the lyrics down, making sure they follow the tune and bring them into class! You can ask mum or dad to help you…

WELCOME BACK

WELCOME BACK LA 19

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday!!! I had a lovely break, heading down to Albany to see my family, play golf, ride the motorbike and to do lots of fishing! I would LOVE to hear what everyone has been up to. Please add a comment and tell me your holiday stories! If you have any photos, please bring them in and they can be put on the blog.

We have a super busy term lined up! Student Leader nominations are due by the end of Week 1, so please get those to me as soon as possible! Don’t leave it until the last minute!

We have THREE incursions about government coming up over the next month, so be prepared to learn lots!

There are plenty more things happening and we will discover these over the next few weeks.

One thing I would like everyone to do (if possible) is bring in a set of ear phones so that we can listen to stories from the computer. Most houses have a couple of sets floating around, or else they can be bought for a couple of dollars. If you are unable to get any, don’t stress as we will have some spares!

Please keep logging into the blog this term as most announcements and homework will be posted here.

FETE HELPERS

FETE HELPERS

Below is the final timetable for helping out on Sunday for those who are able to. Please check it carefully as some people have been listed twice (especially students).
Please be at the stall at the allocated time so that others can either move to their next ‘job’ or see the rest of the fete.
If your job involves handling drinks or food please read the following ‘rules’ in order to fit in with the City of Cockburn- Guidelines for Temporary Food Premises.
– Have hair adequately covered
– Wear disposable gloves (will be provided) or use utensils
– One person only to touch lollies. Do not handle both money and lollies.
– Wash hands before handling food.
If you have any questions, please contact me as soon as possible via email or the blog.
