RSL City of Cockburn ANZAC Youth Parade and Service Photos

RSL City of Cockburn ANZAC Youth Parade and Service

Today all the Year 6 students participated in the RSL City of Cockburn ANZAC Youth Parade and Service at Memorial Park.

It was a great service and we were able to pay our respects to all those who have served our country.

Well done to Jennifer (LA 21) for her lovely speaking, Lachie and Nikita for laying the wreath and all the fantastic voices in the Senior Choir for making our school proud.

Here are some photos from the day.

Water Day

Water Day 2012

On Friday Harmony Primary School participated in a whole school Water Incursion Day. We got to be a part of some fantastic sessions run by Ribbons of Blue, Scitech, The Water Corporation and Science Alive!

We learnt a lot about the properties of water, its uses and why it is important to conserve it. We found out that 97% of the World’s water is salty. This means that only 3% of all the water on Earth is fresh water however most of this water is either frozen or underground. Only 0.01% of the water on Earth is easily accessible by humans. This means we NEED to look after all our water!

Here are some photos from the day. Feel free to leave comments.

Warm Fuzzy Wallwisher

Click on ‘post a sticky’ and add a warm fuzzy note about someone in the class. A warm fuzzy is a positive comment about anyone else. It can be any positive about a person, or something nice they have done for you. They may take a while to come up as I need to approve them first.

INDIVIDUALISED READING

Individualised Reading

Your first Individualised Reading task of Term 2 will be due on FRIDAY MAY 18. This seems like a long way away, but remember that you are meant to read a book before doing an activity, and then basing your activity on this book. Each activity should be on a DIFFERENT BOOK (and not just Diary of a Wimpy Kid 1, Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2 etc!).

Thank you to those students who have persevered with Individualised Reading and have handed in extra activities! This is great to see. There are some students who have not handed me two activities so far, and will be expected to do so. The longer you leave it, the harder it is to catch up.
Good luck! See you all next Thursday for a busy busy term!

Edu-Dance 2012

Edu-Dance Concert

On the last day of Term 1, LA23 participated in the school’s annual Edu-Dance concert. They did a fantastic job, especially considering they only had one term to learn it. Thank you to Mrs Bancroft for all her help!!

Here are some of the pictures from the performance.

A quick update…

A Quick Update…

I haven’t posted on here for a while so I thought I should put up a quick note.

As we count down the final couple of days of school, please remember our Edu-Dance Concert on Thursday at 2:15pm. ALL PARENTS ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO COME AND HAVE A LOOK!!

We have had a great start to the year, with Edu-Dance, class fish, Channel 9 Weather Watch and some fun with Electricity. Please comment with your favourite activities we have done this term!

Please also email me any pictures you have from activities away from school so everyone can see all the exciting things we are up to! I am hoping to catch some big fish on the holidays and posting them as well!!!

Also, in Week 5 next term we have our assembly. We are hoping to put together a GREAT item for our last one at Harmony. We will be working on this over the next couple of days, as well as next term. If you are given a part, please make sure you PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!

Please also remember to go onto Mathletics to keep learning what we have been doing in class, as well as practicing your times tables and reading for our first Individualised Reading next term!
