WINTER CARNIVAL PHOTOS

A couple of weeks ago we competed in the Winter Carnival against Atwell, Success, Aubin Grove and Jandakot. Overall we placed 2nd, which was a great effort. A HUGE well done goes to the Football team and the ‘B’ Soccer team who won their competitions.

Thank you to everyone involved in this great day!

Below are some photos from the day. I only have photos from netball and soccer so if anyone else has any photos I would LOVE a copy of them.

TOUCH TYPING

Today we practiced touch typing. That means you are typing on the computer without looking at the keyboard, preferably using the correct fingers on the correct letters.

It is something you can very quickly pick up, given practice!

Come to my Island

Below is a description of an island I want you to visit. The problem is, I have not described it very well. Your job is to change it and add as many adjectives in as possible to make it sound better. If you want, you can change it to make it an island NO-ONE would want to go to.

You can also add to it to make it longer.

 

Come to my island. It has some trees and a playground. It has some birds flying around. There are some monkeys that will come up to you.

There is a castle on the island that you can visit and stay the night. The creek running through the forest is okay. You can do some stuff there too.  

You will get there by boat, which has lollies and cool drink on board.

Strange Alien Encounter- Homework Task

Strange Alien Encounter

You have stepped off your spaceship and you encounter a martian (alien)! He does not look very happy!!!

You need to write one or two paragraphs describing what you do to get out of this situation. Do you run, talk to it, fight it or have some magical power?

The aim of this piece of writing is to use as many adverbs as you can. You should be using at least one per sentence. You should also be keeping up your use of adjectives. Remember to use paragraphs!

Strange Planet Description

You have been dropped off on a strange planet. You look out… What do you see?

   Click on ‘comment’ below and type in your paragraph. Please feel free to write more if you wish!

If you are unable to access this, or it does not work, you will need to write it out as a good copy and hand it to me on Friday.

Please remember to include at least TWO adjectives per sentence! I would expect most of you should write at least 6 sentences, and many should be writing more than a paragraph. Feel free to comment on other student’s descriptions!

Putting posts on the blog

Hi all,
I have only just realised that there were some posts that some students wanted me to put up. SORRY! I thought it would send me an email to tell me, but it didn’t.
I have accepted a couple and added them (Todd and Nikita) but also didn’t accept some.
A post needs to be a ‘new’ idea, or something that some thought goes into. These can be photos of you or something you have done, something you want people to comment on or something interesting you found out.
If you want to make any other comments then add them as a comment to a different post (the Drop-In Zone is a good place for this). You can also add a new ‘thread’ to the forum (click ‘new’).
